If you want a rich and decadent dessert, then this Flourless Chocolate Cake is the answer. It is super decadent, plus it is gluten-free, too, making it the perfect dessert for any celebration.

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (or the same amount of chopped chocolate)

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cocoa powder

3 large eggs (slightly beaten)

Chocolate ganache:

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (or the same amount of chopped chocolate)

1/2 cup heavy cream

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a round cake pan, about 8-inch. Line with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Put the butter and chocolate in a large bowl (make sure that it is microwave-safe). Heat in the microwave for about 1 minute or until the butter is melted and chocolate chips or chopped chocolate is soft. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Stir in sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the slightly beaten eggs and stir until smooth.
  5. Add the cocoa powder and stir until just combined. Be sure not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 25 minutes.
  7. Let cool on a wire cooling rack for 10 minutes and then loosen the edges using a butter knife. Turn it upside down on a cake plate and let cool completely.

Chocolate ganache:

  1. Put the heavy cream and chocolate chips or chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl until the cream is hot enough to melt the chocolate.
  2. Remove from the microwave and stir until the mixture is smooth.

Glazing and serving:

  1. Once the cake is cool enough, spread the chocolate ganache evenly over it. Place in the fridge to allow the glaze to set much faster.
  2. Slice the cake and serve with powdered sugar.

  • You can top each slice with berries and other fruit slices. You can also use ice cream or whipped cream.
